Age-related hearing loss, comes on gradually as a person gets older. It may be genetic and can occur because of changes in the inner ear and auditory nerve.

Auditory evoked potentials are a method of assessing a person's condition of vestibular function when they are unable to respond on their own or when further testing is required.  It is a non-invasive method of assessing and diagnosing babies and infants.

Auditory processing disorder is a deficit in a person’s ability to internally process and/or comprehend sounds. It is when the brain doesn’t “hear” sounds in the usual way.

Aural rehabilitation is the process of providing different types of therapies to patients who are hearing impaired to aid them to manage their hearing abilities and coping strategies.

Industrial audiology refers to hearing checks for workers/employees who are regularly exposed to harmful levels of noise in their work environment. Your independent audiologist is able to guide and advise you on devices that will assist in preventing noise-induced hearing loss or reducing the exposure to noise.

The purpose of newborn hearing screening is to identify those who have hearing loss and who may require further evaluation.

Paediatric audiology refers to a branch of diagnostic audiology that assesses and diagnoses neonates, toddlers, and children who are up to 12 years old with hearing or balance related challenges.

Misophonia is an irrational emotional response to certain sounds such as dripping water, chewing, snapping gum or repetitive noises. People with misophonia can become irritated or enraged when they hear these sounds.

Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears.  The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused by an external sound and other people can't hear it.  Tinnitus is a common problem and affects 15%-20% of people, being more common in older adults.

Vestibular issues are related to the inner ear and may cause a person to experience symptoms such as as vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, nausea and vomiting.
